How To Use a Second Screen with a Desktop Computer

Shortcut for Using Dual Monitors with a Computer or Laptop


If you have a second screen you can pick how to change the way Windows will show on the second screen. This is useful nowadays as more and more users require second monitors connected to their computers.


Below we will show you how to do this:


On the Keyboard press the following Keys Window Key and P


windows key and p to bring up menu


In the right hand side of the screen you will see some options pop up

You can now use the arrow keys to move the selection up or down and press enter to make your pick:


PC Screen Only - This will disable the second display.


Duplicate - The second screen will show the same thing as the first screen.


Extend - This allows you to use the second screen as an extra monitor you can move items over to the second screen. This means the second screen will not show what is on the main screen. It will be blank until you move desktop items over to it.


Second Screen Only - This will disable the display on the main screen.
